Fall Essentials
By Olivea Kupiec
Being from California, I have never really gotten to experience a true fall until my first year at Villanova last year. Fall has now become one of my favorite times of the year. In this article, I am going to tell you some of my favorite fall essentials that will help you survive the cold weather and get cozy in your room.
For all you coffee lovers, although you can never go wrong with a nice dirty chai, the Pumpkin cream cold brew from Starbucks is a must have during the fall season. To those of you who have tried this drink before, you know how well it pairs with the fall season. Stereotypical fall drinks are usually hot coffees, but if you are anything like me you're probably a sucker for a good cold brew. This drink is the perfect balance between a good black coffee with just the right amount of flavor. What truly makes the drink so good is the pumpkin cold foam; it adds just the right amount of sweet spice to make the drink perfect. If you haven't already, you have to treat yourself to this drink sometime in the next few months while it is still in season.
Apart from the fact that college dorms always smell, lighting a candle is the best way to make your shoebox sized room feel like home. While I have never been a fan of candles in the past, the Vanilla Pumpkin candle from Trader Joes is an essential you need this fall. Vanilla has always been one of my favorite scents all year round but this candle is absolutely necessary for this fall season. With just the perfect mix of Vanilla and pumpkin spice this candle will leave your room smelling just like fall.
Finally, I used to never really like the flavor of pumpkin; but as soon as I found this recipe I fell in love. The Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bread and Muffin Mix is so good and easy to make. One of my favorite things about this recipe is that it's so simple to add your own touch with the other ingredients. Personally, I love adding chocolate chips when I have a sweet tooth or throwing in some walnuts for a good crunch. All you have to do is mix together the dry ingredients with eggs, oil and water and you are good to go. Once you have made your bread or muffins you will be able to enjoy a nice fall morning with a cup of coffee.
Although not everyone is a fan of the fall ,like I hadn't in the past, I hope you take into consideration some of my fall essentials to get in the fall vibes.
