A Main Line Breakfast

A Main Line Breakfast

By Mary Skobieranda

This semester especially, I’ve noticed that finding great food is one thing we can count on to spice up our daily routine. It’s a way to spend time with friends, take a much needed break, and get a change of pace. It’s no secret that many of us college students spend an embarrassing majority of our funds on food. As a proud fanatic of all breakfast foods, I’ve been on the hunt for a trusty list of go-to breakfast places around the area. No one wants to waste money on a subpar meal, so here are some delicious and trusted places to grab breakfast or a sit-down brunch around the area.

Spread Bagelry (Bryn Mawr, PA)

Spread is just around the corner from Villanova and makes delicious bagels fresh every morning. The line can sometimes be out the door, so I recommend getting there earlier in the morning to make sure you don’t miss out on your favorite type of bagel! Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious and extremely filling, their selection of cream cheeses is extensive, and the ambience inside never fails to get me feeling excited for the day.

Ardmore Station Cafe (Ardmore, PA)

This little nook near Suburban Square has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing morning. The food is delicious, the prices are unmatched, and the atmosphere has a cozy and quaint diner feel for those unavoidably slow weekend mornings.

White Dog Cafe (Wayne, PA and Havertown, PA)

This incredible farm to table restaurant is the perfect place to treat yourself to a charming weekend breakfast. There are four locations, two of which are within minutes of campus. This restaurant is a great place to splurge for special occasions, and White Dog’s weekend brunch menu cannot be beat. I highly recommend any of their delicious omelettes!

Sabrina’s Cafe (Wynnewood, PA)

Sabrina’s has several locations around the area. The Wynnewood location is a bit further from campus but terrific for grabbing breakfast or brunch, especially if you’re a French Toast aficionado like me. The atmosphere is homey and wonderful for getting a sweet start to the morning during the cold months to come.

The next time you have a free morning and you’re craving a change of pace from on-campus food, check out these incredible breakfast locations around the Main Line. It never hurts to get a change of scenery and take some time to slow down, and there’s no better time to do so than at the start of your day!
