Must Try Holiday Treats

Must Try Holiday Treats

By Lauren Martyn

During the holiday season, baking with loved ones is something that brings joy to many. The simplicity of being in the kitchen and the aroma of baked treats filling up the house are things that I always look forward to. Every holiday season, my sister and I always spend time compiling recipes to try and designate a full day to baking. These seemingly small moments bring me so much joy; holiday baking is a tradition that I never miss.

Baking these delicious treats does not have to be complicated either! Here are some holiday treats that I plan on trying this season. Below are a few uncomplicated, delicious, and good-for-the-soul recipes.

Cranberry Crumble Bars

The first time my mom made these bars, they were a huge hit! You can use your leftover cranberries from Thanksgiving and make this yummy dessert.

Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies! Take your cookies up a notch by trying out these Orange-scented chocolate chip cookies. They are to die for…

Dairy-free Chocolate Mousse Cups

These chocolatey desserts are so delicious and decadent, and the best part is that they are not baked! You can personalize these however you like…add peanut butter, peppermint, or any other flavoring that your heart desires!

Chewy Vegan Gingersnaps

What are the holidays without some gingerbread flavored treats? These macadamia-nut frosting filled gingersnaps are so luxurious, delicious and easy to make. You would have no idea these are vegan!

Peppermint Patties

When I think of the holidays, I think of all things Peppermint! These no-bake peppermint patties are a crowd pleaser, and making them yourself means they taste even better than the store bought ones :) Enjoy!

Crescent Cookies

Last, but certainly not least, my family LOVES to make these traditional Austrian almond crescent cookies every Christmas. My Oma used to make these all the time, and now my grandma and mom have passed down the recipe to my sister and myself. These do take a while to make, but I can promise you will not regret making them. They are truly a family favorite.
