Four Fun Fall Activities
By Maddie McClay
As we approach the halfway point in the semester, it becomes clear that school work, club responsibilities, and social obligations have all started to pick up. I’m here to remind you of the importance of setting aside time for yourself to decompress and spend time with the people that generate the most happiness in your life. So, here are four fall activities for you to explore in the midst of this busy season!
Movie Night: Last week, my roommates and I set a goal for us to replicate the perfect fall movie night in our apartment. We baked up a batch of the iconic pillsbury pumpkin sugar cookies, lit a nice fall candle, and snuggled up on the couch to watch all our favorite fall films. I have to admit rewatching the original Halloweentown each year brings me just as much joy now as it did in 5th grade.
Take a Visit to An Orchard: Donuts and apple cider, what could possibly sound better than that? I highly suggest that this fall you visit Linvilla Orchards in Media with your friends. Here, they have apple picking, pumpkin carving, corn mazes, and of course the best hot cider in the Montgomery County area.
Nature Walks: There is nothing better than talking a long walk outside in the perfect fall temperate. One of my favorite activities to do during this time of the year, is pick up a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and take a stroll around Stoneleigh Nature Preserve right behind west campus. This activity is great because you can make it a quick 30 minute walk or you can take your time to soak in the natural beauty that comes with the fall season.
Fall Brunch: Let’s face it, there are so many amazing foods that are unique to the fall season. From pumpkin pancakes to cinnamon rolls, the possibilities are endless. Making a fall brunch on a chilly Sunday morning is absolutely the perfect way to decompress and enjoy some company before a crazy week starts. I suggest heading over to Trader Joe’s ASAP to invest in your ingredients before all the pumpkiny goodness sells out!
Whether it’s this week or after fall break, I hope that you find some time to engage in some of these fun fall activities. Remember the importance of carving out time for the people and things that make you happy! As we approach the second half of the semester, remember to cherish the good moments and find happiness in the little things, too.
