A Love Letter to Trader Joes Frozen Meals

A Love Letter to Trader Joes Frozen Meals

By Mary Skobieranda

Cooking at college can often seem like a daunting task. Taking the time to search for recipes, buying the ingredients, cooking the meal, and cleaning it all up can sometimes be too much of a hassle on a busy day. But don’t feel like you need to always grab something off campus or in a dining hall! This is where Trader Joe's Frozen meals come to the rescue. These meals are a delicious and incredibly easy way to stay healthy when you are running short on time. Honestly, I would likely be embarrassed to tell you how many times I have heated one of these dishes up in the microwave when I feel like I have no time to dedicate to actually cooking for myself. Here are a few of my favorite options.

  • Sweet Potato Gnocchi

When you’re craving a pasta dish, Trader Joe’s sweet potato gnocchi never fails to hit the spot. This meal comes with sauce included and I love to throw in broccoli and peas to get some extra greens!

  • Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry

The riced cauliflower stir fry is super delicious and convenient. It comes packed with tons of veggies and can be a great alternative if you’re tired of eating brown or white rice. I love to top this with the Thai Vegetable Gyoza and teriyaki sauce.

  • Burrata, Prosciutto, and Arugula Flatbread

This flatbread tastes amazing and gives a refreshing shift from a typical cheese pizza. It takes only minutes to heat up and makes enough to share with roommates or save for another day!

When you’re looking to save money and mix up your eating routine, Trader Joe’s is your go-to for a huge variety of frozen options. The closest location to campus is conveniently located in Suburban Square in Ardmore, approximately 15 minutes from campus. If you’re feeling stuck in your eating routine, stock up for the next time you’re in a pinch!
