Treat Yourself! Bringing the Spa to Your Dorm

I am personally a sucker for a good spa day or spa treatment. As a college student, I may not have the budget for all my spa desires, but there are still ways in which I can bring those relaxation methods to my dorm room. As we are approaching the end of the semester and everyone is yearning for some time off, it is critical that we all take care of ourselves through some self-care. This article will show those who think that they need tons of time and money to provide themselves adequate self-care a literal run for their money.

One of the first tips that I would like to mention for a dorm room spa day is simply painting your nails! So many people think they have to go to the nail salon or spend hours with a nail technician in order to get the sleek nail look that they desire. But that is not the case. CVS even has stick-on nails for under $10 that take less than five minutes to apply! There are so many ways to get the nail look you desire without having to spend a ton of time and money at the nail salon. The possibilities are truly endless.

The next suggestion that I want to focus on is taking great care of your skin. To do this, I habitually wash my face every morning and every night. I include some other steps in my skincare routine as well such as a moisturizer, serum, and eye cream. This always makes my face feel so soft and luscious, just like I had just gotten out of getting a facial. Taking care of my skin is something I love doing because it makes me feel so refreshed and relaxed after a long day.

Another great thing I love doing at the end of the day is taking a thorough shower. This includes fully moisturizing and exfoliating my whole body and using products that smell really good. The best feeling is the hot water on my skin at the end of a long day, and I encourage everyone to take a relaxing shower. This is a way to keep the costs low and relax yourself without needing to take a trip to the spa that would use a lot of time and energy out of your day. Turning on a speaker with your favorite tunes while you're showering is a great way to jam out and let out some steam at the end of the day.

All of these activities can make your mind and body feel better without the cost of the spa. It is so easy to have a self-care day or self-care routine in a limited space like a dorm room. During these crazy times, it is so important to take care of yourself in order to be the best version of yourself that you can be. Monetary, financial, and time resources should not be limiting in the sense that it prohibits you from taking good care of yourself. We all need self-care no matter the time, place, or circumstance, and you don’t have to break the bank to do so!
