Jump Into Spring With Style-Based Fashion
By Alexa Silvestri
With less than a month until spring, it is time we start thinking about the warm weather. Springtime may mean the usual spring cleaning and fitness trends. However, spring is also the perfect time to put away the puffer coats and break out the summer clothes!
Shorts, dresses, tank tops, bathing suits, and more! Some of these items may bring more excitement than others. However, spring shopping can be a great stress-reliever, especially as midterms are fast approaching. So, here are some spring shopping ideas based on your style.
Back to Basics
Springtime and warm weather may mean back to the basics for some people. These include denim shorts, solid tank or top, and flip flops. If you are looking for good quality basics, check out Zara, Aritzia, and Madewell. If you are looking for more casual, chic, and affordable, Target, Garage, PacSun, and H&M are good places to start!
Girly
You are probably found wearing sundresses, tiered skirts, and sandals if your style is more “girly,” as some may say. Check out new spring arrivals at American Threads, Revolve, and Nordstrom for upper price-ranged trendy spring clothes. Bring the price down a little bit and browse through Princess Polly, Abercrombie, and Lulu’s for the same outfit vibe!
Sporty
It’s “Fit Girl Summer!” You can be seen rocking the gym, fitness studio, or a beach-side run with shorts, leggings, athletic tank, and sneakers. Some classic upper-price range and good quality athletic apparel shops include Lululemon and Athleta. However, Aerie and Victoria’s Secret Sport are great spots for amazing quality athletic apparel as well. Not to mention, fun alternatives to these stores include Amazon dupes or a classic trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods for some Nike and Under Armour clothes.
Boho
A Bohemian style may include distinct patterns, flowy tops, pants, and dresses, strappy sandals, and woven shoes. If Boho is your style, you may already shop at Free People and Urban Outfitters. If you are looking for a change, try Altar’d State and South Moon Under on your next shopping trip.
Shopping is a great therapeutic regime, when used moderately. Retail therapy is a great way to relax and escape from the stress of school or work, if going to the mall or browsing online shops is entertaining to you. Shopping is said to distract from anxiety, lift your mood, and restore a sense of control (source linked here). Even if you are not purchasing anything, shopping can always be a fun time to peruse through new arrivals, try on different clothes, and get outfit inspiration. Lucky for Villanova students, King of Prussia Mall has most of these stores and hundreds more. No matter where you are shopping this spring season, remember to find outfits that you feel confident in and represent who you are. Happy spring shopping!
